The Fictional Vacation / Would You Rather Tag

June 21, 2020

Happy Sunday!

Welcome back to another episode of Nicole Does Yet Another Dead Tag And Hopes It’s Entertaining. XD Today’s feature is the Fictional Vacation/Would You Rather tag, which I was tagged for by Melody. :D

Since it’s the middle of summer and vacation plans are going strong, why not consider some fictional locations? ;) There’s less travel time involved, although these places are a little less immersive and don’t have photo ops.

Oh well, it’ll probably be worth it. XD

The Rules:

Include the graphic Madeline made. Check! (Also, I had no idea Madeline made this tag! :D)

Answer the questions. We’re getting there. . . .

Tag some other people if you feel so inclined. I. Love. This. Rule.

Okay, let’s do this thing.

WOULD YOU RATHER . . .

Train with demigods for the summer at Camp Half-Blood OR attend Hogwarts to learn some spells for a semester?

*sigh* we’re starting off with probably the hardest question of the entire tag. Go figure. XD

Honestly, I’d rather go to Hogwarts. I have nothing against Camp Half-Blood, but I’m physically weak, and I’d probably die after a day at Camp. Hogwarts, however, is very academics-based, not so much physically-based, and I’d have a lot more fun.

Also. Hogwarts has a library. That alone has me sold.

Go on an epic quest through the lands of Middle-earth OR be crowned a king and queen for your bravery in Narnia?

Never mind, THIS is the hardest question.

If you’re going to make me pick, I’d say Middle-earth. Yes, I would probably die early on, but at least I would die happy in one of my favorite fictional universes of all time.

Narnia would definitely be a lot safer, and it would satisfy the whimsical part of my soul! However, I think I’d do a horrible job as queen of Narnia, due to my indecisive nature. XD And to be honest, I don’t have that nostalgic connection to Narnia that most people have.

So don’t mind me as I just live out my after-questing days in the Shire. XD assuming I survive

Fly with Peter and his Lost Boys in Neverland OR have a crazy tea party with the Mad Hatter in Wonderland?

If the Mad Hatter is the Sebastian Stan version, then MAD HATTER ALL THE WAY. XD Despite the fact that I’ve never seen Once Upon a Time, if Sebastian Stan plays him, I’m sure it’s an excellent character. ;)

If it’s anyone else’s adaptation of the Mad Hatter, than I’d much rather go to Neverland, please and thank you. Flying with Peter sounds really fun, and Neverland in general is such a cool place. :D

(I’d probably throw up while flying, but that is beside the point.)

Get trapped in the world of Jumanji OR be forced to dress up and attend a party at the Capitol of Panem?

Um. Neither???? XD

I’ve seen a few Jumanji movies, and not even the video game concept would be enough to drag me into that world. *has traumatic flashbacks to the original movie*

I think I’d be less likely to die at a party in Panem, so I’d rather go there. Plus, I’m assuming the party will have food. If all else fails, I’ll just stay in the corner by the food and refuse to talk to anyone. XD

Sample all of the candy you’d like at Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory OR have a nice stroll with Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood?

DID SOMEONE MENTION CHOCOLATE?????? *raids the factory*

Yes, the food in that factory probably has bad consequences. BUT if I just stick to the legit chocolate that is sold to the general public, I should be fine. ;)

Yes, I really did just pick the creepy dude’s factory over a perfectly sweet outing in the woods because of chocolate.

Head out on a gold-hunting expedition to El Dorado OR hop in a submarine and explore the lost city of Atlantis?

So . . . I haven’t seen either of these movies.

*crickets*

I’ll just pick Atlantis, because (a) underwater cities are always cool, and (b) it could be the Atlantis of KOTLC, in which case I am SOLD.

Also, gold-hunting is really not my thing. I can barely find the notebook I put down ten seconds ago - how do you expect me to find gold???

Skip through the merry town of Oz OR have a nice walk through the kingdom of Camelot?

NOT OZ. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. As much as I love Wicked, I HATE THAT WORLD. SO MUCH.

Even though I haven’t seen Merlin (though it’s on my list!), I think Camelot would be a really cool place to visit! It sounds really magical, and there are knights, and I’ve always loved the stories of King Arthur. :D

Get sucked into the world of Fantastica and go on an epic journey with Bastian OR get sucked into the Inkworld and travel the land with Meggie and her friends?

Ummmm, from what I remember of Inkworld, I don’t think I’d want to go to that world. Sorry. XD

Fantastica is from the Neverending Story, right? Isn’t there a cool dragon who guides the main character? Somebody please confirm this. I’ll go with Fantastica, based on that very limited knowledge. ;)

THE TAGGED:

So technically this wasn’t required BUT I still think Christine and Samantha should do this tag! And if you want to steal it, go right ahead - I haven’t seen too many people do it, and I want to know where your next fictional destination will be!

Of course, we all know that I’d go to the world of ATLA if given the chance, but shhhhh

What’s your dream fictional destination? Would you rather go to Narnia or Middle-earth? Let’s talk!

    1. Haha, yeah, I’m not a huge fan. Everything in Oz seems really creepy, especially those flying monkeys. (Also, I performed The Wizard of Oz for a high school musical, and I have some lasting trauma from that as well. XD)

THAT’S HIS NAME!!! I’ve heard so much about him, and he sounds AMAZING! <3

  5. Thank you so much for tagging me! I was actually thinking that if you didn't tag me I'd have to steal it, but now I don't have to be a pirate! (Not that being a pirate isn't fun, but it does have its downsides...)
I totally agree about Hogwarts, but I'd definitely have to go with the Hundred Acre Wood if I had to choose between that and Willy Wonka...

    1. You’re welcome - I can’t wait to see your answers! (*nods* very true, they end up losing limbs, which is rather unfortunate . . .)

Haha, I think the Hundred Acre Wood is the more sane option, so that’s a good plan. ;)

  6. This post is so cute Nicole! If I'm gonna be honest here, I think I would want to go to Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls. :) I'm absolutely obsessed with that show!!

  7. The sheer amount of people who choose to have a tea party with the Mad Hatter because #sebastianstan is such a mood that I can get behind. Which reminds me: I need to pick back up with my rewatch of Once Upon a Time.

Also, I love that I'm not the only one who picks answers based solely on how well I'd survive.

Haha, yeah, glad to see someone else who would rather survive their fictional vacation. XD

  11. Okay but I love how you chose Hogwarts because you'd probably die at Camp Half-Blood, but then in the very next question you're like "I'll probably die in Middle Earth but MIDDLE EARTH" XD

HAHAHA YES SEBASTIAN STAN MAD HATTER. He WAS a great character, and I'd go to a tea party with him any day. xD

WHOA OKAY I'm dying to know why you hate Oz so much now xD It IS pretty weird, I'll be the first to admit. I don't know if you've read the series, but after the first book things just get weirder and weirder. xD

Yes there is a very cool (luck)dragon in The Neverending Story AND he's also fluffy and cuddly and adorable so YES Fantasia (which is what it was called in the movie and I haven't read the book hehe oops) was the correct choice. Approved.

    1. Apparently my love for Middle-earth transcends my love for life. XD *shrugs* my logic is bad, what can I say

I HAVE HEARD SO MANY GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM. I MUST SEE HIM IN ACTION. :D

I told MovieCritic up there, so you can just glance at that response. XD I did read the first, but it was so weird I decided not to continue the series. . . .

Not gonna lie, I was waiting for your approval on that one. XD I MUST WATCH AND READ THIS STORY ASAP.

Ooo, nice! I mean, if you can handle Wonderland’s craziness, it would be an EPIC place to visit!
